June=Busy!!

June is here and I can't believe it. We have 3 3/4 days of school left. Eog's are done and my kids did pretty well....I was pretty proud of them!! Although the end of school is near, my crazy schedule becomes more hectice instead of less hectic!

I can't complain because this is where I will be for an entire week immediately following dismisal of my kids!

That's right, I will be chilaxin on an island at a teacher conference for the week!! So excited! I have heard so many amazing things about this week long conference and I can't wait to go!

Following my immediate arrival back from a 5.5 hour car/boat ride to my wonderful aboad here in Cary, I will be swooshed away into another vehicle for a fabulous 14 hour car ride to.......................................................................................................................................................................

Home Sweet Home....well kinda....we will be heading back to Michigan for the week....granted it may seem like a vacation, but it never really is. We have Jeff's family reunion, get together's, bonfires, and sooo many exciting things to do. By the end of our trip, I am always so excited to get back to our life here in NC.

Other than those two exciting things, not much else has been going on besides school/work. We have been house hunting and trying to figure out the best place for us to move whether it's to Durham and get more affordable housing or hold out another 6 months or year and build up our savings and get a house in our desired area of Cary/Apex.

Most people I talk to don't understand why we are having such a hard time finding a house in this market. Well the reason being our desired neighborhoods are way out of our price range at this point, so our options are 1) get a townhouse in our desired neighborhoods with no yard and no privacy or 2) move to an area we are not the most enthusiastic about, where we wouldn't want our kids to go to school but we could get the type of house we wanted with a yard and have the space we want. Our kids could obviously come to the school I teach at.....ahhh decisions....it's just such a big decision and we are so tired of renting....we shall see if we can find a comparable house/area before our lease is up....but just in case we are checking out other apartment complexes just in case....argh!

Funny story for the day: So Jeff got a birthday card and balloon from our aparment complex and he put it in the bedroom the other night, well it started deflating and floating lower and it scared our puppy: Maggie. She got so scared of the balloon that she jumped into bed with us. It was quite hilarious because I could not get her off the bed...it took me like 10 minutes to get her off the bed and she jumped up on the bed again after I had gotten up to get ready for work and Jeff couldn't get her off either.....what a pansy that puppy is!!

Our First Post!!

I can't believe this is our first post as husband and wife! Five months later is better than never! The other day I realized that we have been married for over 130 days already and I absolutely could not believe it! Marriage has been great so far and we are enjoying it. It will be interesting for Summer to arrive, as this entire year as been packed full for me. In the midst of wedding planning, graduate courses, teaching a new grade level, and working a part-time job, I can say that our marriage has lasted some very stressful moments already! Jeff has been amazing and deals with my insanity and inability to overcommit quite well! I think I'll keep him (guess I don't really have a choice anymore ;) ).

We have begun the house hunting process, which is weird to say because when we first moved down here to Raleigh, we didn't really know how long we planned on staying, but I can definetly say that we are really happy. We miss our families a ton, but love our life and the WEATHER. I mean seriosuly, 90 + degree weather in April....I am a sun freak, so this has been awesome for me! We are taking that process very slow, just checking out areas, trying to find the ideal neighborhood, city, and school district that we would want our kids to be a part of.

I just finished an add-on licensure through North Carolina Central University and tutoring part-time. My life is becoming less stressed and summer is around the corner and we are thrilled. We are planning to take a trip down to Charlotte in the next couple of weeks and have some fun beach time planned this summer with some fabulous friends!! Stay posted for photos...but here are a few to start from our big day!!
